Over 75 individuals participated in The State of Manufacturing & Innovation online or face-to-face at Georgia Tech. The primary goal of the webinar was to bring together a community of manufacturers, MBDA Business Centers, researchers, innovators and professionals to learn about innovation, new technologies, opportunities, and resources in manufacturing and to launch the Connecting Advanced Manufacturing Program (CAMP) .
Watch the webinar below:
Alejandra Y. Castillo, National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency(MBDA) and Dr. Ben Wang, Chief Manufacturing Officer of the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute provided in-depth insight on the manufacturing industry. Specifically, Dr. Wang shared with us how manufacturing creates wealth in the U.S., has an excellent return on investment, drives innovation, and is foundational to our national security. He also discussed three major technologies that are currently driving manufacturing today – additive manufacturing or 3D printing, biomanufacturing, and composites/nanocomposite manufacturing.
CAMP will continue to create webinars and programs that will help manufacturers become more innovative and improve their bottom line.
CAMP bridges the gap between large corporate supply chains and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) manufacturers by providing these firms with advanced manufacturing expertise and access to a national network of resources, partners and stakeholders. CAMP provides coaching, innovation and research, industry summits, education, and business opportunities to clients through partnerships with the Minority Business Development Agency, MBDA Business Centers , the Diverse manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance and the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute.
