According to the Georgia Economic Outlook report, with the number of major projects in its development pipeline, Georgia is expected to grow at a records pace in the coming years. The MBDA Business Center-Atlanta recognizes that now is the time to grow and we are no exception to the rule.
To kick off our Relaunch, we’re bringing you one of the most recognized business leaders in Atlanta. Dr. Eloisa Klementich is the President and CEO of Invest Atlanta, a position she assumed in January 2016 after having served as Invest Atlanta’s Senior Vice President of Economic Development.
During her time at Invest Atlanta, Dr. Klementich has implemented strategies for job growth programs and partnerships and led efforts to recruit multiple businesses to invest in or relocate to the City of Atlanta. When he announced her appointment by the Invest Atlanta Board of Directors to lead Invest Atlanta, Mayor Kasim Reed said, “over the past four years, Dr. Klementich has been involved in nearly every economic development win for our city,” and was responsible for bringing thousands of new jobs to the city.
Previously, Dr. Klementich served as Special Assistant for Economic Development at the U.S. Economic Development Administration in the Office of the Secretary, and as California’s Deputy Secretary for Economic Development and Commerce. She also has held various roles with city governments, such as a consultant to Mexico’s President Vicente Fox on best practices for addressing constituent issues and requests.
As an economic development expert, Dr. Klementich has significant experience in creating and capitalizing on networks to notably increase the success of targeted initiatives for job growth and business expansion, investment and relocation.
Dr. Klementich holds a bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College and a master’s degree in business administration from el Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey. She holds two master’s degrees in urban planning and Latin American affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received her doctorate degree in public administration from the University of LaVerne.
