ATLANTA, GA –– Donna Ennis, Project Director of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center-Atlanta, will speak to entrepreneurs who desire to do business or currently have businesses in Africa during the African Diaspora Marketplace (ADM) Business Networking Reception.
The networking reception will launch the third round of the ADM Business Plan Competition, created by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Western Union, to promote sustainable economic growth and job creation in Africa by identifying and providing support to entrepreneurs of existing or start up businesses. Winners of the competition will receive technical assistance and matching grants up to $50,000.
As a part of an eight-city tour of the competition, the ADM Business Networking Reception will be held at The Rialto Center in Atlanta on January 14, 2014, at 6:30 p.m.
Established in 2009 by the USAID and Western Union, ADM encourages sustainable economic growth and employment by supporting African diaspora entrepreneurs who have innovative and high-impact start-ups or established businesses and want to do business in Africa. ADM’s goal to motivate entrepreneurs to do business in Africa aligns with the MBDA Business Center-Atlanta’s global business initiative to assist clients with opportunities in trade missions, strategic alliances and exporting through the center’s Going Global program. Other supporters of ADM’s initiative include Deloitte LLP, Homestrings, Ltd., George Washington University Center for International Business and Education Research (GW-CIBER), and Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF).
