The Georgia Tech College of Engineering is one of the most prestigious schools in the country, ranking 5th in the 2016 America’s Best Colleges Edition of U.S. News and World Report. It’s no surprise then that its students are just as elite as their school’s reputation, which is why the National MBE Manufacturers Summit 2016 will feature the Capstone Design Course – a program that connects companies with the talent that lives at Georgia Tech to help solve manufacturing challenges.
Every semester, undergraduate students participate in the Capstone Design Expo where they research design challenges offered by company sponsors who want to find real-world engineering solutions. Past projects have included everything from designs for a corrective spinal deformity medical device, to VTOL UAVs that fly in emergency supplies for hard-to-reach disaster areas.
Not only is this an excellent opportunity for companies to receive low cost research & development (R&D), but it is also a chance for them to interact and work with Georgia Tech students first-hand to identify workforce talent for their manufacturing operations. Representatives from the Capstone Design Course will discuss the opportunities and benefits of becoming a sponsor to these student teams.
