A fresh face can always brighten up the workplace. When placed in an environment that breeds off of innovation, new perspectives are an invaluable trait. These new perspectives can come in many forms, including new employees. The MBDA Business Center-Atlanta recently appointed Joseph Robertson as its new Business Advisor focused on finance for Center clients. In this role, Mr. Robertson will assist clients with accessing all forms of funding including lines of credit, bonding, loans, equity, and alternative capital.
Joe Robertson has been employed with the MBDA Center at Georgia Tech since August 2016. Prior to joining the Center, Mr. Robertson worked for one of the largest CDFI’s in the country, Enterprise Community Loan Fund, Inc. As a senior loan officer based in Atlanta, he covered the Gulf Region and the entire Southeast for Enterprise. Prior to his role at Enterprise, Mr. Robertson spent almost ten years with Fannie Mae in a variety of positions– from business development, to credit portfolio management. In those roles, he worked closely with Fannie Mae’s community lending, community investments, and multifamily units. While at Fannie Mae he also held the position of deputy director of the Atlanta Community Business Center.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Mr. Robertson spent ten years with SunTrust Bank Atlanta in various credit, underwriting, commercial and tax credit lending, relationship management, and asset management positions. He is a true financial service professional with vast experience and qualifications in commercial lending, affordable housing, and community development.
Mr. Robertson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance/real estate from Morehouse College and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Mercer University.
