Innovation in Healthcare: Assessing Emerging Opportunities by Slidely Photo Gallery
ATLANTA, GA- The MBDA Business Center-Atlanta kicked off their Decade of Success celebration with the launch of the Healthcare Partnering Program which was created to, “bring emerging businesses into the health ecosystem and facilitate securing opportunities in the public and private sector.”
Following an overview of the MBDA Business Center-Atlanta’s major timeline milestones and strategy focus for the upcoming years, was keynote Glenn Pearson, Executive Vice President of the Georgia Hospital Association. Pearson, who is board certified in healthcare administration and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, presented a synopsis on the state of Georgia hospitals including the following topics: hospitals positive economic impact; the impact of the Affordable Care Act; quality and patient safety; healthcare personnel supply; and business opportunities in healthcare.
The panel discussion moderated by Christopher Kunney, gave attendees insight from top industry leaders in construction, manufacturing, purchasing and information technology about their best practices and strategies for winning healthcare’s most competitive contracts. Panelist included Russ Ardillo, Vice President of Healthcare of JE Dunn Construction; Mark Cartwright, Senior Director of Supplier Diversity of Novation; Matt Jansen, Chief Development Officer of TeleHealth International Partnership; Angela Wilkes, Director of Supplier Diversity & Sustainability of Owens & Minor and Chair of the Healthcare Supplier Diversity Alliance; and Deborah Williams, Senior Director of Sourcing & Supplier Diversity of Premier Healthcare Solutions, Inc. Attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions and meet the panelist during a speed networking portion of the program. Guests were also invited to the Barrelhouse afterwards for a Happy Hour Social.
